Linux Install Instructions

After you save the installer on your computer:

  1. Start your GUI, open a terminal window and move to the directory where you saved the file.

  2. Change the properties of installer to executable.
    (e.g., chmod 0744 linux-installer.bin)

  3. If you've never installed a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on your machine, then you may need to update your OS from Sun's site before you can successfully complete the installation.

  4. Start the installer by typing ./[filename] where [filename] is the name of the file you saved.
