Stand-Alone Tools - Introduction

Many of the tools that are available within Jim are also available as stand-alone tools. Using these tools, you don't have to start Jim in order to use one of the tools: just start the tool that you need. Here, you can see a list of these tools.

The tools can be run either as a graphical (GUI) tool, as is seen when the tool is started within Jim, or as a text-only tool for batch processing.

On Unix platforms, these tools (both GUI and text versions) are accessible via the scripts provided at installation (see Customising a Unix Installation). On MS Windows, the tools are available via the Start Menu. Also provided on Windows is an example batch file so that you can create your own batch file to run these tools in text mode from a DOS prompt (see Customising an MS Windows Installation).
